About the platform

QOSINT: tools for open-source research in Kazakhstan

An open methodological platform for journalists, NGOs, fact-checkers and researchers. It helps compare public information while keeping each check within its stated limits.

Public service Reference information QOSINT 0.7.0

Operating model for partners

QOSINT links source, version, anchor, limitation and human decision rather than returning an unqualified link list.

Why it exists

QOSINT offers five public tasks that run locally in the browser; each states its inputs, result and stop condition.

  • The interface is available in Kazakh, Russian and English; each task states its scope separately.
  • Demonstrations use synthetic data. Source and integration catalogues are reference material and do not start collection.
  • A match or record change can guide further checking, but does not establish misconduct.

What it is not

The platform does not replace journalistic verification, legal advice or emergency services.

  • No shared database of private individuals or cross-organisation search.
  • No hidden data collection, biometric identification, doxxing or automatic publication.
  • A link, match or difference between versions is not a conclusion by itself.

How to read results

Five public tasks run checks locally in the browser. Results are limited to the supplied data and selected task; consult primary sources and the stated limits before drawing a conclusion.

Related project: DISARM

DISARM is a standalone project with its own domain, release and owner: a working space for matrices, countermeasures, incidents and response plans. QOSINT does not exchange data with it and does not process its material.

  • This is a navigation link, not a connected integration: no data is passed between the projects.
  • Useful when a finding from an open check needs to move on to countermeasures and a response plan.
  • The working space is closed: its public address opens a sign-in screen only.
